  1. I would like some help jazzing up my blog. I have some photos. Also, I am not sure of what widgets I should add. I also want to add a Facebook like button for my library Facebook page, but I am unsure of how to make that work so that people will go directly to my FB page and like it.

    • You can insert photos into your blog entries. Here is a great How To from WordPress. You can also add the Flickr widget to your page if you have an account to stream your photos. Here is an example of what it might look like if you did: Portneuf District Library. Notice the “Our Pics”.
Widgets that you pick are entirely up to you. It also depends on how many sidebars the theme you chose allows. Here is some more information about Themes from Wordpess. Think about what you want your blog to look like and what you want people to use. Too many widgets can cause clutter and detract from content. Play with it a little bit. See what you like and dislike.
Here is a great tutorial for adding social media “like” buttons to your blog: Black and Whiteblog. It takes you step by step through the process.
Here is more on social media integration from WordPress.
Now that I have drowned you in links and information, let me know how it goes. 🙂 I’ll be watching your site for its growth!
      Thanks for the question!

  2. I can not add the Pinterest “pinning” to my favorite bar to make it easier to pin. I do not have a favorite bar in my tools. UGH! Very frusterating. Do you have any ideas?

    • For most browsers there is an option to add bookmarks the bookmark bar to your browser.
Chrome: Click the tool icon in the upper right of the browser > Booksmarks > Show Bookmarks Bar
Firefox: At the top of the lefthand corner of the browers is shows “Firefox” in orange. Click on it > Options > Bookmarks Tool Bar
Internet Explorer: In the upper right of the browser is a Star click it > Click the drop down menu for Add to Favorites > click Add to Favorites Bar (this will make the toolbar appear).

Once you have your toolbar: go to this link
Literally use your mouse to click and hold (your mouse should look like crossed arrows when you can grab it) the “pin it” button and drop it on your toolbar. When a line shows up on your toolbar then you know to release the mouse button and the “pin it” button will be on your tool bar.

Let me know how it goes! Happy playing 🙂
